Describe Your Eating Habits: Task for 1st Year Secondary Students
Context: Why This Task Matters
Eating healthy food is important for your body and mind. Knowing how to talk about your eating habits in English helps you share good ideas with others and practice useful vocabulary. This task will help you learn and use new words about healthy and unhealthy foods, and practice simple sentences to describe what you eat every day.
Objective of the Task
Your goal is to describe your daily eating habits using English vocabulary about food and the present simple tense. You will write a short paragraph and prepare to say it out loud to your classmates.
Instructions: Step by Step
- Learn new vocabulary: Review the list of healthy and unhealthy foods your teacher gave you. Examples include fruits, vegetables, water, juice, sweets, fast food, and soda.
- Write your description: Write 5-7 sentences in English about your daily eating habits. Use the present simple tense. For example: I eat fruit every morning. I drink water at lunch.
- Use connectors: Try to connect your sentences with words like and, but, sometimes to make your description clear and interesting.
- Practice speaking: Read your description aloud at home or with a friend to feel confident when you present it in class.
- Prepare for oral presentation: Be ready to say your description to the class in a short oral presentation (about 1 minute).
What You Need to Submit
You will submit two things:
- Written description: A handwritten or typed paragraph (5-7 sentences) about your eating habits in English. Make sure your handwriting is clear if it is handwritten.
- Oral presentation: A short, clear spoken description (1 minute) about your eating habits. You will present this in class on the due date.
Deadline and Time Estimate
Due date: One week from today, at the end of your English class (2 hours in total).
